1) MSK Nassau in Longpoint, NY

This biophilic design for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NY caters to patient experience much like a hospitality project. We particularly like the pops of organic color and commanding lighting features.

2) Bridgeport Active Health in Toronto, ON

Bridgepoint Active Healthcare in Toronto combines adaptive reuse with new construction. The facility connects patients with the outdoors using a labyrinth courtyard, rooftop terrace, and sweeping patient views. The design is anchored in the renovated rotunda - a former jail - that symbolizes the facility's commitment to transformative rehabilitation. Bridgepoint is the first hospital in Toronto to receive a LEED Silver rating.

3) Butaro District Hospital in Rwanda

The Butaro District Hospital in Rwanda was constructed by a team of local masons - led by female master mason Anne Marie Nyiranshimiyimana - using naturally occurring volcanic rock. The hospital is designed to reduce airborne disease transmission with features such as Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UGVI) light fixtures, open-air hallways, and cross-ventilation. On-site doctor housing was constructed using blocks created from the dirt excavated on-site and filled with furnishings from local artisans.
