Zena Forest Products is a family owned business located in the Eola Hills of the Willamette Valley, Oregon.  The family has managed the Zena Forest since 1987 with a focus on maintaining a healthy and diverse forest ecosystem. They work with Oregon White Oak, Western Bigleaf Maple and Oregon Ash, manufacturing hardwood flooring, millwork and lumber.

Wood Lighting Design offers unique timeless designs handmade in Bend, Oregon. Dedicated to the highest standards of quality that comes directly from our shared sense of pride, each lamp is an artistic statement incorporating natural materials as a three-dimensional sculpture. The designs utilize bent wood in dynamic tension giving a sense of aliveness to each piece. The light they bring gives an atmosphere of warmth and nature as it shines directly through the translucent wood veneer. The grain of the wood veneer varies uniquely, as in nature, giving a one-of-a-kind quality. The luminosity of the frosted acrylic spreads the light beautifully while the contrasting materials artfully complement each other.

The Joinery creates beautiful, quality wood furniture of modern and classic design. We regularly partner with architects and interior designers to create furniture for commercial and residential settings using traditional joinery techniques and timeless design. Salvage Works sells reclaimed wood from deconstructed house, barns and other structures from the Pacific Northwest. We mill WOW wall cladding, as well as sell salvaged slab from urban cut trees. We at Beech Tree Woodworks work closely and collaboratively with our clients, designers, architects and general contractors to create a look specific to our clients’ needs, tastes and vision. Our mission is to create long-lasting “green” cabinets, furniture or built-ins that will be passed down for generations.

The name of our company was inspired by a lone beech tree growing on the property where Nic built his first workshop. The tree’s distinct beauty—its breathtaking, ever-changing colors and cyclical patterns—symbolizes Beech Tree Woodworks’ dedication to using nature as an inspiration in the work we create and our commitment to sustainability.

We use locally available wood products from ecologically-based forests. Our core values include both a deep commitment to artistic design and to leaving the smallest footprint possible.

It all begins with an idea.

I am a designer and maker with more than 20 years of experience exploring and shaping materials to serve the needs of commercial and residential clients who love natural materials and well crafted, beautiful furniture. I love generating ideas for clients who are looking for unique solutions especially for reception and conference furniture. I am an excellent designer and engineer and pride myself in being resourceful, partnering with local fabricators, upholsterers, finishers and installers to complete a project from beginning to end. I am hands on when it comes to shaping the making process, selecting materials, and understanding site conditions. I enjoy working closely with clients, I.T. staff, and local vendors too and ensuring function and once in a while delight with my design work. My goal is to generate interesting work using local materials and resources, eventually growing a full line of furniture for the contract market. I also hope to become a solid local employer.

Our work addresses the relationships we form with our constructed environment, namely the objects that surround us. We are aggressively committed to have these everyday objects enhance our lives through meaningful interaction. As a result of thoughtful design and execution of craft, our work reveals a sense of intimacy...the story of a piece, how it feels to plop into a chair or run your hand along the bottom of a tabletop. Our practice does not negotiate the thinness of styles; rather we seek to mate timeless beauty with timeless utility.

Integral to our practice and commitment to craft are programs of research and collegiate teaching. We believe in a sensitive and responsible process to making and use only domestic hardwoods to create our new American archetypes.

Every piece is designed and handmade in our Portland, Oregon studio by Hew founder Sterling Collins, a talented architectural designer turned woodworker. Hew was founded in 2013 and is Portland, Oregon based.

We create sustainable wood products from 100% post-consumer reclaimed, salvaged, and FSC®-certified woods for the Architectural and Design community.
